How does Ridgeline approach AI responsibly?

There's a lot of interesting things going on in the headlines and with public speakers around AI. I think that we as part of humanity all face and share in these risks, but within Ridgeline, we're really focused on how we can harness this technology for the benefit of our customers and the benefit of our company. And we're doing that by implementing safeguards for how the models are used and limiting what they can do within the application so we're not subjected to some of the really scary stuff that's being reported in the news.

What does the ISO 42001 certification mean for Ridgeline and its customers?

The ISO 42001 framework is really the global standard for AI risk management that exists today. And we're extremely proud of the program that we've built and put in place. And what that means for our customers and for our company is that we have a way to address the risks that face Ridgeline both internally and in the innovation that we provide to our customers within the product. And we can review those features and we can deliver the innovation in a very ethical and responsible way.

How does Ridgeline evaluate AI risk?

Ridgeline is really intentional about how we evaluate and deploy different AI models both within the product and for our company's use. And I think that gives us a really thoughtful way to make sure that before we use it, we've evaluated all the risks, we've come up with the proper mitigations, and we're making a clear judgment call on whether or not we're comfortable using it in our product.

Which principles guide Ridgeline’s AI program?

As I reflect on the AI risk management system that we've put in place, I think the two most important attributes are rigor and transparency. We're very detailed in how we evaluate the functionality of the AI features that we're building and providing to our customers to use within Ridgeline. And then we're very focused on transparency, which means giving our customers clarity, giving them transparency into what they're enabling, what data is being used within those features, and giving them the ultimate decision on how to use the powerful technology that's provided in Ridgeline.

How is Ridgeline preparing for what comes next?

The risks around this technology are changing literally every day. And it's impossible to predict the future, but I'm very confident that we have the right people in place and the right framework to evaluate what's coming at us on a daily basis. And I think that puts us in a really strong position to responsibly deliver this innovation to our customers.

What comes after certification?

Achieving our initial certification is really just the beginning of the journey. So we're really proud of where we're at, but our focus now is continuing to follow the program we've put in place, continuing to review features, evaluate models as they become available, and really ensure that we're providing a responsible approach to how we deliver the features to our customers.
